Well I think I'm making progress on some of things I wanted to do... I have been to church a lot more (missed this Sunday because I was in Nashville with a friend). I went to a Building 429 show on Wednesday night, and I soooo needed that! I talked to some of my old friends from the ministry and they are interested in revitalizing Rock Da Ville... I'm going to the gym regularly and eating lots of protein... I now buy egg whites instead of whole eggs :) and I'm telling a difference in my shape more so than on the scale, but that will come I'm sure. I've also decided to cut my long hair... I plan to get it cut next week if I don't chicken out.

Now on to the other part of my life I want to work on... my finances... I don't make enough money and I don't get to spend what money I do make on the things I want because I have too many things I HAVE to spend it on... that is going to change.

The first thing everyone says to do in a critical situation is to stop the bleeding... well that would be a goal if there was a flow to stop, but my funds are gone before i get them so I feel like there is no blood.... so my first goal is to get more of a flow... which means I plan to be earning more money very shortly... one way or another.

Next I plan to look at my credit history (as scary as that is for me) and start one by one cleaning up the mess I have created over long periods of time with men that were just as bad financial planners as I have been.

Once I have the credit history under control I plan to start a savings account... yeah I never really had one.

I have actually been reading several books and working on a series to teach here at the 'brary on personal finance. There is a book by Clark Howard called "Living Large in Lean Times" that I highly recommend if only for the great website list in the back of the book. Everything from ways to budget to buying prescription glasses for as little as $6.95. It's been a very interesting read!

I have a few goals in mind... I want a kindle fire (first small goal), I want to sell my house (I have to have money to fix it up some more to make it marketable), I want a newer vehicle (I'm keeping my lil pretty black truck, but she needs a sister and a rest) and lastly I want to go to Disney World for my 38th birthday!

The Disney World idea is a combination goal, I want to go to a theme park and ride all the rides when I'm comfortable with my size (something I've never done or been before). I want to have the money to go and have a good time. (something I've never had before) and I kinda want to see Florida and see what all the fuss is about (I've never been before) and I would love to go with people that care about me (I hope I find some that will or I'll be going alone)... besides I think goofy is awesome and I want mouse ears!

So anyone want to go with me? =o)

  1. You have some great goals in mind. Can't wait to see everything a little at a time fall into place.
